today: rock climbing. me, michael, hao zhong, lee yang, ming kai and some other BB fellow went to take the lvl 1 climbing course.

bad start in the morning. i kept yawning during the theory session because i'd barely 6 hours of sleep last night. as i yawned again and before my hand rushed to my mouth, the instructor glared at me "that's 6 times"! and not counting the times he'd missed me yawn, haha. everyone was half dead, just stoning the whole time. it reminded me of class except no one was sleeping now.

2 hours of all about ropes, belaying, safety and blah. suddenly the instructor looks at his watch and realizes it isn't working..and he'd meant to dismiss us for lunch long ago. so we go down to the hawker centre and have lunch. the sign above the centre said "Satay Club". unfortunately, the place had chicken rice, prata, more stuff but no satay. after lunch we go up and i am greeted by the instructor with him mimicking my yawn. obviously i wasn't in someone's good books.

the actual rock climbing was pretty okay. since every climber had to have someone below them keeping the leverage we took turns. and one time some woman had to support me below because everyone else was occupied.

bad move. my..velocity upwards was close to 0 as she barely knew what she was doing and kept fumbling with the rope. when i finally did reach the top i almost didn't dare let go so she could lower me down slowly. when i actually did let go i dropped half a metre before she stopped me.

never again, please.

hah but all of us did get the "cert" for the course eventually, even with the instructor pestering me (i'd bet its because of the yawning,) which turns out to be a little card. and, it's laminated. not that it makes a difference. Bleh.

whew. and tonight we watched (at home) the dark knight. unfortunately it was a cam recorded one and my mom kept asking me what was going on. but, it was a good movie with joker putting up a great performance. WHY. SO. SERIOUS???

Plot: 8.5/10 I like big plots. Huge, complex plots that blow your mind like a good book. Loved the way it all played out from one scene to another. Enough twists to satisfy my cravings. Moral ethics discussed as well. *SPOILER* But I hated the way almost everyone died. Is there going to be a sequel, ever, because of this?
Soundtrack: 8/10 Suited the movie, but they had to reuse some music from Batman Begins. Liked the heroic themes though.
Action: 8.5/10 Used to move the plot forward a lot. Combined with Batman's low, menacing voice (although I find it rather fake) and Joker's acting it makes for a treat.
Joker: 9.5/10 Loved his character and its development. Haggred appearance, edgy way of talking which sometimes transforms into a crazy one. Psychopathic. Just like the criminals in the books. We need more characters like him.
Overall: 8.5/10 As said, deep plot, graphical action and a fitting soundtrack interweave to create a dark atmosphere (lang arts talking again) which sets the scene for a movie worth watching. Make sure you've watched Batman Begins first; this is its sequel.
