so, it's 830pm on christmas eve and here i am back in my room (fine, grandparents' room for the time) while there's a party going on in the living room. well i had my share of food- just wanted to get in a post before the new year hehe.

everyone outside is pretty much aunties and uncles ._. no one near my age other than brothers/cousins. hehe but they're quite funny la. especially my granduncle- he's kinda senile, asks funny questions, people don't know whether he's faking it and playing tricks on all of us or whether age's getting to him. he's pretty old too- at least 70 plus. and the stuff he asks...

"does your grandmother still teach?"
"nah, she retired quite some time ago. she lives in australia now in a nice home"
*thinks* "what the. she retired more than 20 years ago and moved to australia. hasn't she been coming back to visit you almost every year..."
"oh. oh. *points to my cousin becky* what's her name?"
"becky, she's my cousin"
"uhh..whose daughter?"
"*points to her parents* they're her parents. you know their names right!"
"yah. *looks at my cousin again* she's a girl right?"
"yup"
*thinks* "......"

haha but he's a nice fella. LOL although most of the time he's asking people who's who because his memory's rather oldish. that's what we think. i should actually be glad he remembered my name this time. while he had to ask me what my brothers' names were :P haha he almost never fails to ask me what's my name la. and who my parents are. although my dad's known him pretty much his entire lifetime...

food outside be awesome. pineapple + ham, turkey stuffing (which is for some reason not inside any turkey but instead laid out inside a bowl LOL), garlic bread (antibacterial o.o), peppercorn gravy, sushi...sushi. freak, my auntie is sooo pro. or rather, her maid is haha. she actually made the sushi at home. and it looks like the type you see in the shop!! i actually thought at first that they'd bought it then tapao over here but no, they'd made it from scratch. haha apparently it's not that hard after all- they have some sushimaking machine (which you can buy from...daiso) in which you just chuck the fillings and rice, then insert the seaweed into the machine and viola! something like that. haha sounds like an interesting change from baking. speaking of baking. was supposed to bake a gingerbread house with my cousin today as an xmas prezzie for grandparents. but, she fell sick before she came back from msia :/ she still wanted to do it but after i printed out the recipe she fell sicker and had to rest. so i shall give grandma and grandpa a biiiiig hug later instead :D <3!! they're just great.

got called out by my dad to fix the xmas music which'd stopped. lol, had forgot to put it on repeat playlist -_- well when i got to the com, my cousin was like "play pirates of the carribean! he's a pirate!" LOL so i did. the adults didn't really notice at first till i cranked up the volume a notch. fine, a few notches. hehe and my brother was singing (or rather trying to) 'merry christmas!!' along the music like a drunkard haha. then played a bit of soundtrack from indiana jones until my dad caught me eye ): set it back to the xmas playlist, and here i am again. ah, spent the whole day doing xmas related stuff. ugh, on a bad night of sleep. cousins + grandparents all staying here so had to sleep last night on what my mum calls a 'japanese mattress' on the floor. little does she know that that mattress's just a bunch of bamboo glued tgt. even after laying it out on the carpet it felt like sleeping on solid rock -.- dragged myself to my parents' bed in the morning and finished my beauty sleep there :) hehe. face needs it. woke up at 12.30...ugh. finished up some cards+prezzies in time for the party hehe. when i came back home my mother, grandmother and auntie were "where were you just now!! we needed your help!" i was like "wat"..well apparently the mixer had refused to work for them- the two metal spinning thingies had crashed against each other. didn't tell them that it was probably cuz of our last baking session LOL. scouts be treating mr mixer roughly :/ ohwell, uncle bent them back properly so things went fine after all.

just found out in the morning that we'll be opening presents tonight. no. party. tomorrow. my parents are actually thinking of going to the beach...what?!? i don't want to spend christmas on a freaking beach. the 'beaches' we have aren't really beaches anyway. just a pile of sand dumped on a bed of assorted rubbish. and the seawater has the rich, deep hue of yaseer's skin LOL (no racist). seriously. and it's uber dirty too. and my parents + uncle and auntie were like "oh the kids can play in the sand and get wet in the sea..." no thank you. can i crash someone's party ): ah it's probably too late since everyone's probably being happy at some gathering or smth. brrr. christmas =/= beach, people.

my parents are sending my maid back soon. according to them, she's been getting sick too often, and worsening over time- recently her legs've gotten swollen (or so it seems. i didn't notice any swelling) up to quite a bad extent :/ she hasn't been told that she's going to have to go home- yet. but she really has been acting up a bit nowadays :X showed me a pair of pants when i asked for a shirt. placed one of my speakers upside down and the other one (strangely,) upright (and they're symmetrical!). sigh, even though i got really exasperated with her last time i think i'm going to miss her bad. she's the most...friendly. out of all the other maids. i'd say. haha, her stories are always so cool la. especially the one about her carrying a rifle through the fields when she was serving filipino NS (yes, women have to go. according to her). ugh reminds me of the xmas gift MinDef was so kind to send me. NS registration ): anyway. now ida seems more like a friend than a maid. even compared to the other maids who played with us/were more talkative. somehow, her personality's more...bubbly. haha i think that's the word.
it's a pity that she will go.

cycling ytd with david, wife ma/ian and daughter. and...son? nephew? LOL. either way, joshie = highlight of outing. his way of asking for things is somehow psychologically much more persuading/convincing than the usual way we all plead when we're young. for example, compare the next sentences:
"mummy, can you buy me macdonalds please?"
"mummy, you will buy me macdonalds."

LOL. seriously. it somehow makes you feel slightly more resigned to the fact that you're really going to have to buy that cunning youngster and his sister macdonalds with that "must" in the sentence. guess who talked about plants vs zombies the whole time too. the other time it was funny. now...it's scary how someone can be so hooked on the game LOL. haha the things we crazed about over childhood: neopets (my quiggle > your pet). pokemon cards (i has an album still :D). beyblades (not me. those things were lameeee). crushgear (anyone?). runescape (LOL fun game). we all get over it sooner or later. most of us at least. i do not expect to see a JC1 student next time raving over how his army of pea shooting plants annihilated an army of zombies haha. anyway, cycling was fun!! thought i'd be kinda boring but the scenery and weather made a difference. no rain :) although it was drizzling at jurong area in the afternoon. daughter and son went rollerblading with joshie. they be veryyyy slow :P haha mainly cuz joshie be learning how to ride a rollerblade. and in the end guess who got injured...): nvm i can had alcohol swab. strong guy girl didn't make any awkward faces when she was cleaning mr wound, though. hopefully it be healing fast. but in the end everyone had good time haha. i hope. :)

about 2 more weeks to school. i don't hate school- i just don't like the way holidays passed so fast ): always seems that way, though. i remember at the end of the uberlong O level hols wondering where all that time'd gone to :/ and before you know it, whee you're in school again. can't wait to see who our math teacher is! hehe. since we pretty much know who our other teachers all are. still, i want more holidaysss ): i hope some terribly infectious but harmless disease starts spreading around and all schools get closed again just like in 20?? during the sars period. eh wait, which disease is harmless -_- much wishful thinking here.

badmintonnnn ): kh you careless kid. leave daddy's racket behind ): lucky it be the old one. ugh, can't get any smashes right now with the new racket. pulled off 0 successful smashes with the new racket. which is designed for smashing. which has been re-gripped so it's head heavy and can smash better. which has been restringed with guards designed for smashing. my technique = fail. must learn properly soon while there's still time :/

well. i guess i better get back to the party. cousin came in just now and accused 'antisocial' LOL what la. fine, i shall comeout and talk to you now, beck..

happy christmas eve!
