it's the marking days.
life is good- really good- now :D got slaughtered by math on tue (technically it's thursday now, since it's 3.20am). while i was doing the paper the main thought trailing in my mind was, "gah this's so easy, if only i'd actually practised more -.-" honestly, i thought it looked really doable; if only stewart'd worked harder for it. i kind of wasted the entire weekend, but spent some time well too.
went out with sam, mingann, david, mervyn, cheryl, xintian (omgosh!), ian, alison and tri after the paper- adrian joined us before we left school. had lunch at 313somerset was at some jap restaurant before browsing through some nail polish shop. haha a number the girls got nail polish, probably for prom. the sparkly nail polishes actually a lot more than the normal ones- like $7.90 instead of $2.90 for the normal non-shiny ones without glitter. the glitter is nice though :D the guys went bowling while the girls went...shopping, no surprise. bowling was fun! went to the arcade for awhile before joining the girls at starbucks.
played some board game at starbucks that mervyn and david taught us- gosh they seem to know how to play a number of these. mingann ended up wanting to paint people's nails/try out her new nail polish really bad, and being awesome i allowed her (after much persuasion) to paint my right pinky's nail. so she did...and somehow ended up painting all 4 other nails on the same hand. i was quite fine with it cause sam'd assured me it's water soluble- and after mingann finished painting the last nail sam burst out laughing and told me it's not -____- amazing. so they said it was alcohol soluble, but it turned out not to be, uggh almost resulted in an embarassing situation just now but luckily my mum turned out to have nail polish remover, and it went off in a jiffy, thank goodness.
a bunch of us ended up at my place for dinner (pizza!), movies, card games, and so on. juno came- for starcraft of course. watched batman begins during dinner. it is a stunner- so much was going through my mind while i was watching it, and though i've forgotten most of it by now, the plot was really impressive. adrian and alison left afterward, and tri, juno, mervyn and david stayed over. wasted the night- entirely. juno, david and mervyn took turns playing starcraft (duh). tri played Zoo Tycoon the entire night. i kid you not, he is the most hardcore zoo tycoon i've ever seen. i mean, it looks like the kind of game you'd play for at most 2 hours? he spent the entire...time at my place on it. like, from 6pm to nearly 6am? someone's going to know how to run a zoo well when he grows up.
i watched the dark knight- haha thanks david for bringing it. i think it's the best film ever made. it's just so well conceived. throughout the film you tend to sympathize so much with Batman- he just goes through so much and still has to maintain that playful facade simultaneously. it's painful at times- because at heart, the film is darkly tragic; Batman loses about everything he has. the twists, turns and ironies in the film are what make it so good. at one point the Joker uses burning wreckage to divert a police entourage into taking another route- and if you look carefully the burning vehicles are actually fire engines. all these little twisted, even black attempts at humour just drape the film in an even more dark, deathly shroud. the real star of the movie is the Joker- i did mention before why. he plays on uncertainties, morality, ethics- it's just so disturbing and frightening at times during the movie. but enough about the movie. i think i shall watch it again before the week ends.
most of us slept around 5am- i woke up at 2pm while everyone had apparently woken at 11 or so, oops. went to long johns for lunch, and by the time i got back and washed up it was 4. half the day gone! at least i got my nail polish removed, and my dad never saw it even after saying hi to me when he arrived back from the states. it's almost halloween there, it seems. he brought back some pretzels and goodies- the pretzels were really good, it's just so fresh and you can taste a really buttery fragrance when it's in your mouth. it reminded me a bit of freshly baked bread.
okay, 4am! i still feel awake :/ shall read for awhile and hopefully drop off.
