reading has its own gifts and its own poisons. i guess it's up to us to stay away from that which would...destabilize.

in other news, the Heinemann bio notes for options E and H are excellent imo- unlike clegg, it's actually useful. not that clegg is completely worthless- but Heinemann does go in-depth into some concepts while not straying too far from the syllabus objectives. usually i have to make notes or force stuff into my head after reading allott or clegg; this isn't the case with Heinemann. it's written in prose form, and that helps a lot- my brain seems to absorb it very well. in fact, it seems easier to recall entire processes or concepts after reading Heinemann only once over rather than hitting allott repeatedly.

it seems like a good choice would be to read Heinemann, then use allott as a quick ref once the main concepts are grounded in your mind. seriously, if you haven't taken a peek at the Heinemann printouts, skim through them at least- it's worth it. between the horrors of clegg (i believe the book itself doesn't cover Options- you need to play the CD which comes with it), lengthiness and complexity of campbell/reece and overly simplistic parsimony of allott, i'd choose Heinemann any day- the writing is lucid, and easy to absorb- think of it as glucose unlike the complex car- nevermind. bio is getting to me.

i started bio yesterday. i will have one day for math- tomorrow. hopefully this congestion goes away soon. it is keeping me from doing so many things.
