i have realized that the one kick i get out of going on the com is checking my email. haha but no fb really helps, after deactivating it you seriously realize how much time you're not wasting now. oh wait, the other kick would be big bang theory. though i have only so many episodes now.

watched a protoss tutorial just now by Husky- learnt the basics of 4gate play. this is quite a terrible time to learn it, though, since it'll probably make me ache to play...which is something that's not going to happen, now.

i have finally started doing a fairly close reading of Paddy while simultaneously taking notes on the netbook. i had a previous theory which kinda concluded that you could save lots of time studying Paddy by cancelling those "random and unimportant" vignettes out of the book and just focusing on a few major ones. well, i've proved myself wrong- layered deep beneath pretty much every vignette, there is a gem to pick up. okay lousy figure of speech, but you get it. the only problem i'm having now is moving too slowly- i'm about 30 pages into the book and the notes have more than 1500 words. better hurry so i still have time for Huck.

i guess i should be pretty glad for my future- either i get into NUS med and my dream comes true, or i go into NS for 2 years. thing is, being the poor soul i am i got slotted into PES E- which is pretty much the lowest category there is. so i'll probably be tippety tappety on a keyboard all day long doing admin work. but, i'm hoping the admin work won't be too hard- that means finishing it fast will leave me free to do other stuff like reading, fb...i wonder if they block fb in military camps. and, i'll probably get to go home every day while all you lucky guys get to enjoy the luxury of a night's sleep in hot, humid bunks or even thick mud in the forest...before having your sleep interrupted at 5am+ by someone screaming at you to wake up and get ready for exercise. i'll be doing my own, walking to the bus stop to wait for the air-conditioned bus which will take me to my air-conditioned office in the camp. and i'll probably have free time after knocking off from work each day so fortunate me gets to do fun stuff like piano, reading, playing, going out! the future *looks* good. then again...anything could happen anytime.

then there is the far more distant future ahead, which is something to worry much more about.
