watched the dark knight again- it's serious mindblowing.

made a cheesecake. this one's terribly rich- 750g of cream cheese! it's one of the more complicated recipes i've tried. the biscuit base (my favourite part :)) was simple, blend 1 cup of mcvities, combine with sugar and melted butter, press into pan and bake for 10 minutes. they only asked for two tablespoons of sugar- my favourite ingredient. i modified it a little- added "heaping". sugar <3

the filling was quite messy. lemon juice, rind, eggs, sugar (yay!), flour, vanilla and of course the three massive blocks of cream cheese. it was quite sick, seeing them get sliced apart by the beaters. the mixture was ultra creamy & rich; it was still slightly watery when i'd added the first two cheeses but after the third, woah. poured it into the base, licked up the remainder. seriously, the filling was super rich. like my wife.

even the baking instructions were non-standard- it said to bake at 220 deg C for 10 minutes before baking at 120 deg C for 35 more minutes. it turned out okay at first, but when i loosened the springform pan some part of the cake tore- my heart followed soon after. it'd looked so nice at first, but the tears :/ probably happened because i hadn't wiped the sides of the pan before putting it into the oven to bake; the finished cake was "joined" to the side of the pan by the filling i hadn't wiped away before putting it in. still, made the glaze- lemon juice, sugar (huzzah), water and...cornstarch. the cornstarch really makes it gloop up after a while. mixed in an egg yolk- it looked quite disgusting for a bit, but after a while it turned out really lemon-y looking and fairly spreadable.

i guess we shall have it when we come home. hopefully i'll be able to bring some to school tomorrow. ah, this memory of mine!

the computer's graphic card is outdated. a HD 4850- powerful, three or so years ago. now, a lot weaker, but not quite obsolete by today's standards. fuwell's price list doesn't even list it anymore. maybe i shall get a 5850 or 5870 when the time is right- aka when the price drops. prices are always falling in the computer industry.
