yesss.
okay, maybe not so. last question: seriously, what the. had no idea how to calculate the expected values, cause we were all so used to using the GDC to get the expected values. my mind flashed back to last time- when i didn't even know we could use the GDC to get the expected values, and when i was doing the chiquared worksheet in the green book i calculated every single expected value manually. no kidding. then when fazli returned my paper he was like "stewart!! you know you can calculate the expected values using the GDC..." ah. and so i ditched the good ol' manual calculation method, and kept using the GDC to churn out them expected values.
and guess what comes out...
right, so i put in the most logical values that came to my poor confuzzled mind. the total was 100. so, what could go in the boxes? easy! 25, 25, 25, 25. but no, you say. the side totals are like 40 and 60 already, it wouldnt even make sense for you to enter values like 25 and 25 that don't add up to those values. oh, simple that. i changed the totals from 60 and 40 to 50 and 50. don't ask me why. yeah, i got the whole question wrong, rawr.
post-ib craze kinda hit me some past days. or rather, i began to feel it wouldn't be as great as it would be. and so it isn't, at least for me. but it's good, this calm.
ian: external graphics card!? that's for laptops only...and laptops are simply not made for gaming, ugh you could get one of those alienware/voodoopc/dell gaming laptops but their capability/value is simply blown away by desktops, really, stick to a real com for gaming, you won't regret it. the external graphics card juno talks about is, after some googling, probably an adapter that allows you to hook up various compatible video cards (that would normally be for PCs) to a laptop since laptop graphic cards are so shoddy. or most of them are, at least! build a com now, prices are really decent, you can snap up a fairly good gaming com at maybe 1k total? don't buy from retailers o.o it's way cheaper to buy your own parts and assemble them yourself (or pay the guys at the shop to assemble it for like $10 or maybe they'll do it free).
in other news, i have set my sights on an XFX R6870 1gb :O goodness i wonder if my psu'll be enough to handle it.
cheryl: ah, well, it's over. you know, i guess as long as we do well enough to get where we want to, it won't matter. whether that happens is another story :S wuthering heights is a big shift from the contemporary books around nowadays, i found it quite challenging to read at first, but it's really quite lovely, the writing style, once you get used to it haha. do read it!
got Dubliners from borders just now. james joyce! read a bit about him, apparently his writing style and Doyle's have some similarities. i read the first story- The Aunts - on the way back. it was quite hard to concentrate, the mrt ride and all :S but i found it pretty, satirical. it's hard to tell whether your suppositions are correct, and whether you're misinterpreting, but haha i guess that's all in the fun of reading.
more tomorrow, or another day.
