one of the unexplained things in life - why my dad is so good at scrabble. got thrashed the first time i played with him; the second game was so bad i was swapping tiles more than once in a row while he took the triple word scores. my mum joined in for the latest game; i started off winning, then began accumulating vowels and spending them in silly four-letter four-point words like NOON. then the father suddenly surged ahead of everyone and took the game. well it was less humiliating than the 1v1s, where i remember being pretty far behind at like 140+ points while he was closing on 200, then later i was reaching 200 and glanced at his counter and counted that his points were just below 200 again, and rejoiced - till i realized the counter wasn't nearing the 200 mark, but the 300 one :(

relief teaching at school :D man, had to invigilate some test today, and of all subjects, higher chinese. it was bad enough one guy kept whispering away half the time and i had to keep stopping him, but beyond that there was one fellow who raised his hand, called me over and told me there was a mistake in the paper and pointed to some characters. *blank stare* *tries to sound professional* "if there's a mistake, a teacher will come in and correct it!" well no one else found a mistake so i guess there wasn't any.

physical science! ended up having to teach topics i didn't have lesson plans for at all. rawr and the class's behind in the SoW, i ended up going rather fast and somehow covered about 3 topics in 20 minutes which i don't think was supposed to happen. oh and apparently the class was supposed to get a break after the test, while i kept them back for lessons...no wonder they kept complaining that it was break during my lesson. i thought they were lying. oops! nehmind 30 minutes only

after that 40minute lesson there wasn't anything to do. thank you rachel and wx for dropping by and keeping me sane - there really wouldn't have been anything to do till i found dr yong to sign my attendance log before i could leave. actually i didn't find him at all - found mdm yong at the swim meet, and she agreed to sign it :D the nearby ms chock: "wow you know all the right people!" well, not really.

teaching a class's really different from individual tutoring - and a lot more draining too. i r tiredzzz

and my phone has been acting up. if you're not receiving any replies please call me instead - my phone can completely neglect receiving messages; they just don't arrive at all. and this afternoon it deleted 700 old messages by itself, i honestly don't know how but this really means i need a new phone :/
