Level of terror in jobs (increasing magnitude):

1) Teachers
2) Doctors
3) Catholic altar boys HAZMAT specialists
4) Bomb defusers
5) Driving instructors

No, really. First driving practical lesson last Monday! It's quite thrilling and scary at the same time when you're behind the wheel - I remember grinning all the way once I got my hands on the steering wheel. But omg, the first time you accelerate and hear the engine revving, it's quite terrifying - I immediately thought OMGOSHnowaicanilearndrivingever :( Panic came close when trying to go forward and backward, but one wonders - who's more afraid, you or the instructor in the other seat? The fellow who was teaching me was quite stoned though, so that was good. On second thoughts he might've been drunk, but it was me doing the driving so no matter! But seriously, how did he maintain that poker face all those times I nearly went into lanes I wasn't supposed to.

But he did say my turning wasn't bad :) "You drive before right?" "No la, bumper car only!" *Disbelieving look flashes across for a second before reverting to stoneface*

Driving's so easy! Jumped into the driver's seat just now before my dad got in. "Hah! Manual's so easy, Auto's gonna be peanuts" *Jams in keys, starts engine, then pulls handle up* "Wow Mum, the handbrake's so easy to adjust in a real (non-trainee) car!" "Stewart, that's the handrest..."

Come to think of it, you need to push down the handbrake when starting a car, not pull it up. Oops!
