Ahh, the sweet, fragrant and...slightly putrid smell of burning cheesecake. Made a New York cheesecake, taking extra careful steps to make sure it didn't crack. Made sure to set out the eggs and cream cheese to warm to room temperature before mixing the ingredients, and made the yummy - as always - digestive biscuit base meanwhile. Used the electric mixer to cream the sugar and cream cheese, then mixed in the rest of the ingredients with a spatula. I only used 3 blocks of cheese though - the recipe called for 4, but that's ridiculous! 2 blocks make a tasty enough cheesecake and I've seen other recipes call for 3, but 4...nah! Muhaha, Semi-Jewish NY cheesecake...

Though it didn't crack (the flour probably helped a lot), it did suffer from rise-then-sink syndrome; the middle of the cake rose till it peaked forming a dome, then it saaank all the way till only the sides were left raised. Leaving the cake's middle looking like it'd been punched in. It tasted pretty good- very fluffy and light, but was a lot more japanese than NY imo ._. I always thought NY cheesecakes were rich, thick, sinful...mm, shall try making a no-bake cheesecake again soon. Those seem to turn out a lot nicer.

Someone has to tell my brother NOT to be so overconfident for O's. Before IB we were all 'ohmygosh we're going to score so badly' 'I hope I get 40' 'I have NO chance at 45' and we all turned out with pretty fine marks. He's doing the opposite- counting the number of A1s that he's 'going' to rack up...gah, he's not just counting his chickens before they've hatched, he's freaking counting the GENERATIONS of chickens that're gonna be laid by the as-of-yet unhatched chickens. I probably didn't help by playing dota with him till 4 the other morn- oops!

In other news, the zodiac sign for the month is...that of the gamer. MW3, BF3, Skyrim all released in close proximity; I have no more human needs. Kidding.
